Geneva

Landed in the evening and had expensive fondue (50 CHF ~ 55 USD per person)

Exploring the city

CHOCOLATE!1!1!!1!

Took the amazing public transit to CERN.

Proud to say we had a part in building it.

The Geneva Pier

University Market Square

Victorinox (Swiss Army) Flagship Store

Corbusier's key early project Immeuble Clarte, built in 1931

Took the public transit as far north as possible to a Medieval City called
Hermance on the border of France

Geneva - Sketches

The smoke stacks appeared as a field of smoke curls in the early morning light...

Attempting to capture the movement of smoke as time lapsed by.

The door handle in Saint Pierre Cathedral: such intricacy and detail!

Beams extending from the wall to support the stairs in Maison de Verre.

My neighbor's sunflower on the train-ride back to Vicenza.

Geneva is a Happy City

First Impressions of the City Each Day......
Day 3, Day 2, Day 1

The Interior of Maison de Verre, designed by Le Corbusier....

CERN: Science at its greatest.

Snapshots of a little medieval village, Hermance.

The very clear waters of Lake Geneva...
Swans!

This fountain began as a practical means to release pressure, but over the years it's become one of Geneva's most iconic monuments.

Geneva, Switzerland

The most expensive city!

Camaraderie in Geneva: losing money together!

We heard that cheese fondue is a specialty in Geneva, so one of our first goals was to relish in this gooey goodness......

Look at how happy we are with our fondue~

mmmmm....air-dried meats and rose

This is no ordinary cheese!  It has been cooked with white wine, spices of some sort, and another liquor that we couldn't identify......

It was Shane's birthday  =D
And then the bill came....

and we became broke....
But why starve?------ Food Highlights Time!

The best pastry I've had yet:  Poire Belle Helene

"It takes like hot-dogs." -Shane LaMay

CHEESIEST quiche ever.

You can't help but smile with that lake all around you =)

One day all of our dreams could come true, like Matt's.

Beautiful Geneva

Sky and Lake merge into one fabric on the horizon.

The fountain vertically ties the city back to the distant alps.
Geneva's famous fountain. 500 feet high.
Can be seen from the plane and from many parts of the city.

The Swiss version of a birthday candle...basically a blowtorch.  Fortunately, Sarah's hair
and face was not burned off when he tried to blow it out.

Dock that actually went under the water, so that you were almost on eye level with the water level.

...what?
