Carnivale!
After taking a bus, another bus (after the first one broke down), hiking through people's fields, running across the highway, and some more walking we made it to the Church of Autostrada! I really enjoyed our first sight of the church from far away because its scale was so large in comparison to the rest of the built environment but so tiny compared to the landscape.
I found the copper on the roof beautiful because the rain had caused the green to bleed onto the stone leaving a green residue on parts of the exterior.
The concrete interior was cast in wood so the texture of the concrete looked like an extremely heavy "wood" that gave directionality leading you to different parts of the church while the stone was in a larger scale.
At the Uffizi museum on our way to the bathroom, they embedded a set of stairs into the old bricks that were falling apart.
Ciao Miao!
The copper bleed really is beautiful =)
