Medieval City: Mercat de Santa Caterina & Barcelona Cathedral

Mercat de Santa Caterina. Trying to capture the relationship between the interjected Morallas design, with the existing facade. Straddles it carefully, allowing it to exist, instead of covering it up.

Found this online...what?? I had no idea the roof looked like this! Completely different side to the design, yet still embodies the quirky aspects of Barcelona. It's as though the visitors to the market get one experience, and then the residents around the market, looking down to it, experience another nature of the market.

Barcelona Cathedral. Very different feel than other cathedrals we visited. You could feel the history and past here.  The choir actually surrounds a portion of the congregation seating, which was strange. It was interesting to juxtapose this with the Sagrada Familia, which feels so alive. This felt very ancient and mysterious.
