Medieval City

The horizontal bands of stone composing the exterior walls accentuate the vertical lines of the columns.
Barcelona Cathedral

With the Gaudi's name printed largely on banners across the side of the cathedral, I was incredibly confused to see the cathedral at first; the essentially gothic cathedral did not conform to him---or, well---Gaudi would not conform to the restrictions of the style.  It turns out that the church was not after all.  Nevertheless, this was an impressive cathedral, made even more so by the guitarist playing outside and the pop-up antique market that graced its side.
