Nuova Porta

Vicenza is a city that is still very much controlled by the presence of the Barbarian Walls. Outside of this wall the circulation of the city is mostly vehicle and pedestrian passageways are limited. This commits the community to find means of passage as possible with high risk factors.

The site of this project is located near the main "Ospedale" of Vicenza. Hear you can locate main attractions such as the Teatro Olimpico and the Palladian Basillica.

Porta Bartolomeo is part of the gate that remains in the middle of the roundabout. The proposal is intended to connect the nearby streets and the existing walls as continuation on its construction.

This plan demonstrates how the edges of the proposal begin to shift the circulation of the community by still letting vehicles pass freely, but pedestrians can access the next street with ease.
