P1X2
Sketch from Ponte Furo looking towards the Basilica. I was attracted to the convergence of both sides of the river at the end and how the fog near the end that obscured most of the tower created so much depth. As I was sketching I began to notice how both sides of the river act almost as walls that encapsulate this open calm space of the river.
Roggia Seriola: Sketch of the "moat", hopefully, and details of different zones that become a part of one wall.
Focusing on hidden gems, we discovered the "surprise" that was hidden in EuroSpar (quite lovely and not that hard to find). The first sketch details a small portion of the wall that is framed. The second sketch depicts the joining of the tower and wall and although it isn't there, I know that on one side of the wall there is a historical center and on the other a more modern city.
This last sketch composition focuses on facade details. The first sketch depicts the common palimpsest of different methods of construction materials and the remnant of an arch that is now blocked. The second sketch is interesting in the way that the pattern and textures of two different walls come together. The third sketch is a detail of the Chiesa dei Carmini which caught my attention because of its unique rhombus looking pattern, which I'm glad to have seen as I kept walking on this interesting yet very cold, cold, cold, cold day.
