Bolzano, Italy, in the morning. Vineyards and farm fields covered in
snow on the hillsides around. |
|
Look out for the blue-guy. All he wants to do is make a snow ball. No, that's not true. He also wants to peg you with it! |
Stir crazy after a week of rain
in Vicenza, we decided to visit our friend Andrea's hometown, Bolzano.
It was going to rain again all weekend in Vicenza and the rest of the
Veneto so we figured, better snow than rain. It is nonetheless drizzling
here but
there is snow on the ground, everywhere. Especially at the top
of the cable way.

Fun funivia. |
|
You can tell by the smiles that this picture is "dopo i pasti"! |
|
Actually snow is as good as food. "Do you wanna build a snow man?" |
This guy played in the snow for toooo long.

19 Living Relatives Of 'Otzi The Iceman' Mummy Discovered. Are you one? Grandpa? Is that you? | |
We paid
a visit to Ötzi, the
Man in the Ice. He is exactly the same height,
weight and shoe size as Ava. Imagine him next to Bob and I know he will
seem even smaller!
|
These people are not us. I think I am glad of this. |
|
I think you get the picture.... |
|
Soren did. |
Bolzano has a great storic centro. Some people say it is like Vicenza only "clean".
|
The shopping was much better, ask Anita.... |
The differences:
- it's bigger
- they fix their plaster facades (hmmm...)
- they are more "trendy" (lot's of high-end boutiqu'eee shops)
|
Weird. |
|
Macchiato or... ??? |
Castel Roncolo is awesome. Full of "seular" frescoes from the 1400s.
|
This is not Castel Roncolo |
BTW - More people speak
German than speak Italian here. Bouna serate from the edge of Italia.
