The Merchant Bridge

View from the Biennale Museum

The Galleass: the first attempt at building a large naval ship, it was used at the Battle of Lepanto. Propelled by both sails and Oars with guns mounted and wheeled carriages along the sides.

The Galleon: similar is construction of the Galleass but smaller and slimmer.

The idea is to not only develop a linkage across the Rio Aresenale, but by studying the construction of these merchant ships developed for centuries in the Aresenale the proposal would have similar construction methods. With this it proposes to display the construction of these magnificent ships, while viewing some of these construction details in the bridge itself.
