Watery Map

This purports to be the earliest surviving map of Venice, 1380.
Today we will use a different tool in sketching. It is a stylus of early origin, this bamboo pen. Early scribes used them for calligraphy and I suspect this map may have been made with one. I was reminder of this old map when I saw the very new map that Devyn posted last week. Isn't it uncanny?
