Reaction to Flooding - Site Conditions

The area of Fondamenta Misericordia is prone to acqua alta and shows extensive damage of the canal wall. 

The proposed bridge will be functional at all levels of flooding by providing tiered landings which will be accessible for pedestrians. 

Because the bridge will be utilized by students from Scuole Pubbliche Liceo M. Foscarini, the bridge will have access to additional learning facilities for students. Public and private spaces on the bridge will separate student and community access.
